Founded upon traditional Christian beliefs, Christian Heritage School's mission is to provide excellence in college preparatory education, working together with the home, to develop within each student the ability to reason biblically, while equipping them to fulfill their God-given calling in life. Christian Heritage School has a curriculum and philosophy of learning grounded in the elements of a Christian Classical Education.
The Christian Classical curriculum, divided into three stages of learning, best complements the three states of cognitive development. By incorporating the stages of grammar, logic, and rhetoric within the curriculum, our students receive and achieve more than a base of knowledge; they are equipped with skills that will make them lifetime learners. The classical method allows every student to excel in core subjects and develop critical thinking skills thorugh Socratic dialogue that promotes intellectual and academic growth and success. In addition, skills in rhetoric are built from the elementary years, equipping our graduates to communicate effectively.
A Christian educational philosophy allows our teachers to freely evaluate and adapt curriculum materials so they most accurately express God's truth. In doing so, they seek to inspire Biblical scholarship and independent thinking, with the ultimate goal of interpreting the subject matter in the light of a Biblical worldview. We utilize a notebook for every subject, developing personal responsibility for study, critical thinking, penmanship, organization, and a correct record of each student's progress and productivity.
CHS is blessed with a diversified faculty whose members are expected to exemplify Christ in their daily lives. They have been carefully selected for their genuine Christian commitment to teach and their love and ability to work with students.

The Oak Forest Montessori School was established in 1981. Its purpose is to enable the child to cultivate his natural desire to learn. This goal is approached in two ways: 1) By allowing each child to experience the excitement of learning through choices rather than being forced; 2) By helping the child to perfect all of his natural tools for learning, so that his ability will be at a maximum in future learning situations.
The school is a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child's sensitive years between the ages of 18 months and 6th grade, when he can absorb information from a rich environment. The use of individual materials permits a varied pace. This accommodates many levels of ability in the classroom. Children mature at very different rates and their periods of readiness for academic subjects vary a great deal. We believe that learning experiences should occur naturally and joyfully at the proper moments for each individual child.
The curriculum includes practical life, sensorial, language and phonics, literature, math, history, political and physical geography, zoology, botany, geometry, science, music, Spanish, motor skills, art, and work with computers in upper elementary.

The East Texas Charter High School opened in the fall of 1999. ETCHS is an independent school district that reports directly to the Texas Education Agency. The school owes and operates its facilities at 2402 Alpine Road. A new 13,000 square foot facility opened in January 2006. This building will accommodate up to 200 students at capacity. January 2006 also marked the beginning of a separate freshman campus and an evening program for students that work full-time jobs during the day. The mission of ETCHS is to help students discover who they are and who they can become. Education is stressed, but helping students build self-esteem, deal with stress, anger management, and drug prevention are all part of the school program. ETCHS is not a disciplinary alternative school. ETCHS does not discriminate in admission based on gender, national origin, ethnicity, religion, disability, academic, artistic, or athletic ability, or the district the child would otherwise attend.
All teachers are certified in the state of Texas. Teachers are also "Highly Qualified" as defined under the No Child Left Behind Act. Applications for Enrollment are available at the school or on their web site.
