This innovative program assists community and technical colleges in financing customized job training for local businesses. Average training costs are $1,420 per trainee. This fund successfully merges business needs and local job training opportunities into a winning formula for putting people to work. The Fund will provide training for specific skills for workers who will be hired by the businesses.
Who is Eligible?
Businesses who form partnerships with local community colleges and technical schools or the higher education extension agency may apply to the Texas Workforce Commissions for funding.

Economic Development Sales Tax Incentives
The voters of Longview approved the creation of the Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) and LEDCO receives a portion of the total local sales tax receipts. The sales tax received may be used to provide incentives to firms who wish to expand or relocate in Longview. The incentives are considered on a case-by-case basis, and are based on the total investment being made, wage and benefits rates, and taxes that will be generated.
