Longview, Texas moved up in the ranks of Best-Performing cities to 9th in the 2011 Smallest Metros division, up from 15th in 2010. The Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components effecting the ranking include job, wage and salary, and technology growth.

This ranking is great news for the Longview MSA!
