As part of Industry Appreciation Month, LEDCO organized a tour at STEMCO, a local manufacturing company, on Tuesday, February 26th . Michael Carnes, V. P. of Operations, told the group of about 26 people a little of STEMCO's history and the products they make. He also related how the Lean Manufacturing process has improved their customer service and efficiency. Process time from receipt of order to shipment to customer is now 2 days, compared to 12 days before the process changes. Mr. Carnes then led the group of educators, business people and city council member on a tour of the plant.
