The Longview Economic Development Corporation board of directors approved the purchase of 700 acres just north of the Longview city limits from the Judson Heritage Limited Partnership. The cost will be $3,360,000 - $4,800 per acre.

Robert Metzler, vice president of LEDCO, said finding land to purchase for a future business park has been a major goal of the city’s economic development arm for five years. “We already own the 300-acre Longview Business Park but we know Longview is developing at such a rapid pace, that we wanted to plan for the future. We looked at every potential site in the area and decided that we wanted property in Gregg County that is in one of our city’s school districts, and could be annexed by the city. The site we are planning to purchase fits all of these criteria.”
