From music to theatre to outdoor activities, Longview has it all. Among the area’s many cultural landmarks are the Longview Museum of Fine Arts, The Longview Ballet and The Longview Symphony Orchestra.

For the avid outdoorsman there are several lakes perfect for fishing, swimming, and boating. Parks are scattered throughout the area providing plenty of opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty while walking, jogging, or cycling.

Shopping in Longview is truly an experience with several retail, gift, antique and craft shops.

Attractions
 Kidsview
Kidsview is a playground designed by children for children. Local students participated in designing and naming the .5-acre Playground completed on November 5, 2000 just 5 days after the project began. The playground will be part of a larger park project implemented by the City of Longview to include youth softball, baseball, and soccer fields, walking trails, and a pond
Heritage Plaza
Located in Downtown Longview. Heritage Plaza tells the unique history of Longview. Detailed walls depict Longview’s growth from its early days as a pioneer community that was transformed by the railroad to the vibrant city that it is today.
Alley Fest
A family-oriented festival held in May. It includes an Alley art show that attracts the attention of artists from all over the country, and a Music fest that combines Blues, Jazz., Rock n’ Roll and Cajun
Great Texas Balloon Race
Hosted at the East Texas Regional Airport, this event showcases some of the United States’ best hot air balloon racers. This International competition for the Texas State Championship includes a balloon glow, an air show, and a key grab competition.
 
East Texas boat, RV, and Camping Exposition
Showcases a wide variety of RV’s and boats of all sizes.
 
Christmas Parade and Living History Christmas
Longview’s holiday season is kicked off each year with a lighted Christmas Parade. The following day, the Gregg County Historical Museum acts as a stage for the "Living History Christmas", a theatrical performance that reenacts Christmas activities from the "good ol’ days".
 
First Monday Trade Days
Quite possibly the largest flea market in the world, Canton, TX, is home to First Monday trade days. Rain or shine you’ll find everything from arts and crafts to antiques. With over 350 acres and 7,000 vendors it’s a guaranteed one-stop shop!
 
East Texas Oil Museum
The life of an East Texan during the 1930s can be summed up in one word…oil. The East Texas Oil Museum in Kilgore, TX, examines the impact that this commodity had on area citizens.
