Two Class I railroads, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and Union Pacific Railroad, serve Longview. BNSF operates two trains daily through Longview's facilities while Union Pacific maintains a daily schedule of 25 trains.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
Burlington Northern Santa Fe operates one of the largest railroad networks in North America. They serve 28 states and two Canadian provinces. Their network covers the western 2/3 of the United States from the Pacific Northwest and Southern California to points in the Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest and from the Gulf of Mexico to Canada.

Union Pacific Railroad
Longview is a major crew change location on the Union Pacific, averaging 50 through freight starts per day, 3 local freights and 8 switch engine starts per day. Switch engines are operating 24 hours per day with 24-hour supervision by yardmasters handling approximately 450 cars per day in the complex.

Direct connections from the yards in Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Shreveport and Pine Bluff are operated daily. Aggregate customers are served by dedicated unit rock trains that originate in the Chico, Georgetown and San Antonio areas of Texas and also from the quarries in Arkansas.

Amtrak

Longview is served daily by Amtrak passenger line. Longview is the fourth busiest station along the Texas Eagle route served by Amtrak passenger service. Connecting service is available to/from Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana. Service to/from Nacogdoches, Houston, and Galveston Texas is also available. Amtrak train station also handles package service and prices by the pound
