10. Special Focus Areas
The school nurtures, develops and stretches each individual with a range of electives complemented by college preparation curricula and advanced placement courses in the Upper School. One hundred percent of our graduates are admitted to college. The Class of 2004 helped TST realize its first 'million dollar class’ as it received in excess of $1,000,000 in college scholarship assistance, and the Class of 2009 earned over $1.34 million in scholarship offers, which was almost $100,000 per student!
The curriculum emphasizes a strong foundation of academic skills, as well as a focus upon development of a higher level of cognitive reasoning. All of this academic preparation is set in an atmosphere of Christian love and a commitment to the spiritual development and emotional nurturing of our students.
A significant variety of extra-curricular activities including fine arts, an extensive athletics program, community service, and leadership development complements our academic program and provides opportunities for our students to contribute to both our school and the greater Longview community.
