The Port of Shreveport/Bossier is located at the head of the Red River Waterway, with direct links to the Mississippi River System and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. More than $100 million has been invested in this multi-modal facility. Only 70 miles east of Longview, the Port is set up for shipping, receiving or storage.

  • Links to Union Pacific main line rail. Reciprocal switching service to KCS and BNSF. BNSF provides direct service to Longview and connecting cities.

The Port of Houston on the Houston Ship Channel is one of the busiest ports in the United States, shipping and receiving cargo worldwide. It is located only 200 miles to the south of Longview and just a few hours from the Gulf of Mexico. More than 100 million tons of cargo is handled annually.

  • Two railways, Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific, serve the port.
