Business Retention

We are here for YOU.

The Longview Economic Development Corporation is thankful you have made Longview, TX your company’s home and we want you to continue to grow and prosper here!

Longview’s healthy and vibrant economy depends on the well-being of our existing primary employers. If you are successful, the entire community benefits because:

  • 65% - 80% percent of all new jobs are created by existing companies
  • Businesses that stay competitive are more likely to remain in the community and possibly expand
  • Prospective companies will contact existing businesses to discuss Longview’s business climate

The Longview Economic Development Corporation has made our Industry Retention and Expansion program a priority, meeting with an average of 130 current primary employers each year ensuring companies grow and stay competitive. The goals of the initiative are to retain primary jobs and tax revenues within Longview, foster growth and expansion of companies in the Longview area and improve the business-ready atmosphere of Longview.

LEDCO provides the following resources:

  • WorkKeys™ - a skills assessment system used for hiring & promotions
  • HR Alliance for Workforce Excellence
  • Seminars and workshops
  • Career information at LongviewWorks.com
  • Assistance with remodel, new construction and permits
  • Up-to-date demographics
  • Maps: traffic Counts, aerials, customized maps
  • Regional Profile: includes workforce, transportation, education data and more
  • Utility information
  • Wage data
  • Available sites and buildings: Industrial & Commercial

Existing primary employers are one of our community's most valuable assets. We value your commitment and investment in Longview and want your company to grow and prosper!

HR Alliance

An alliance of Human Resource professionals creating workforce strength through communication and collaboration.

The Human Resource Alliance for Workforce Excellence was formed in 2002 to identify employer needs and work through regional resources to augment the workforce size, improve workforce quality and improve employee-employer matching services. The Alliance meets bi-monthly for lunch and networking, often with a speaker and a tour.

This group is comprised of only Human Resource professionals. If you are an East Texas HR professional and interested in connecting with the group, contact Tim Smith at Timothy@longviewusa.com
