The City of Longview provides developers an expedited plan review and permit process with a one-stop destination for all the key functions related to the development review process. The Development Services department has a 10 day turn around for commercial plan reviews. If any revisions are required, an additional 10 days are given once revisions are completed. The approval process is largely dependent on responsiveness of the design professionals as well as accuracy and completeness of submittals.
Pre-development review meetings are highly recommended prior to submittal to expedite the process. Pre-development review committee meetings are available at the Development Services Center by appointment.
The City of Longview adopted a Unified Development Code (UDC) effective January 1, 2021. This is a document that consolidates all development-related regulations into a single resource rather than in various separate ordinances. In addition to streamlining the existing codes, the City modernized the land development regulations and development ordinances through the process.
