LONGVIEW, TX – May 27, 2021 – The Longview Economic Development Corporation (LEDCO) is thrilled to announce that Aviagen, a global poultry breeding company, is opening a new facility in Longview. LEDCO’s Board of Directors voted to approve a performance contract with Aviagen, which will be locating in the Longview Business Park.
Aviagen offers specialty breeding stock to customers in more than 100 countries worldwide under the Arbor Acres, Indian River, and Ross Brand names. These brands are among the most recognized and respected names in the industry. The company will make a capital investment of $27 million and create 65 new jobs. The project is expected to reach completion summer of 2022.
"Even throughout the pandemic, our North American customers have enjoyed a strong demand for healthy, affordable chicken meat,” added President of Aviagen North America Marc de Beer. “We are committed to securing the supply of quality Parent Stock to help our customers put food on the tables of families throughout North America and around the world. The new hatchery in Longview will play a big part in this goal.”
