Longview Economic Development Corporation is committed to developing our workforce by partnering with local educational institutions and organizations and offering programs such as Work Ready Systems and the Human Resource Alliance for Workforce Excellence. Local colleges and universities also work together to supply the community’s workforce needs by developing and maintaining current and relevant programs for East Texas business and industry.Â
Workforce Solutions East Texas
Workforce Solutions East Texas is a community partnership providing no-cost recruitment and employment services to businesses and job seekers in the 14-county region.
Workforce Solutions provides services for both employers and job seekers. Business services include occupational skills training, on-the-job training and incumbent worker training. Job seekers have use of the resource center, staff assistance, access to training and child care services, if eligible.
Kilgore College Workforce Development Department
KC Workforce Development’s customer-directed, industry-driven approach provides businesses with affordable solutions for skills training. The department offers a wide range of customized education and training programs targeted to a company's specific needs.
ACT WorkKeys® Assessment
LEDCO has partnered with Kilgore College to provide the ACT WorkKeys® Assessment, which measures skills in the workplace using three basic assessments: Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents. This allows qualifying participants to earn a portable credential, National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). This valuable tool aids job seekers, employers and educators in procuring employment, hiring employees and preparing students for careers upon graduation.Â
Texas State Technical College (TSTC)Â
Texas State Technical College provides customized workforce training programs that incorporate the employer’s goals and objectives. TSTC offers both for-credit and not-for-credit programs with online or in-person, hands-on classes/training. TSTC handles the administrative aspects of the Skills Development Fund, which assists your businesses by designing, financing and implementing customized job-training programs.
Skills Development Fund
The Skills Development Fund (SDF) is Texas' premier upskilling program. SDF grants provide site-specific, customized training opportunities for Texas businesses and their employees.
